Our most heartfelt condolences and prayers are with the families and friends of the 19 brave firefighters who lost their lives while battling a wild fire in Arizona this past Sunday. They were members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, based in Prescott, AZ. “Our Public Safety Professionals, whether Firefighters, Law Enforcement Officers, or Emergency Medical Professionals, put their life’s on the line each and every day for the citizens of our great state”, said Secretary Collier “It’s a tragedy not only for the fire service, but for all of us in Public Safety and our thoughts are with their loved ones and fellow firefighters”. It was the deadliest single day for U.S. firefighters since September 11, 2001.
